Small groups of children ensure that individuality of each child is nurtured. Currently the ratio is one educator to four children under school age and three school aged children.

Family day care  offers flexibility of hours. This includes:

  1. Standard hours of care
  2. After hours care
  3. Weekend care
  4. Evening care
  5. Caters for shift workers
  6. 24 hour care
  7. Before and after school care
  8. Vacation care

Family day care educators must hold or be working towards a qualification in Children’s Services and must have an approved attainment in first aid, asthma management and anaphylaxis. They must also have a current working with children check.

Parents who are registered with an approved family day care scheme are eligible to receive Federal Government Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate subsidies.
