What can we say, Collectives’ first end of year party was spectacular. With the iconic Bondi Pavilion as our host, the magnificent coastline as a backdrop it was hard not to feel something special was about to happen; and it did.
Educators, families and their children came together from all across Sydney and as far away as the Central Coast to bask in the sunshine and share an amazing day.
With over 200 people attending it exceeded our expectations and proved to us that we are all looking to belong somewhere, all wanting to find that village where together we can take care of each other and celebrate as one.
The children had a wonderful time getting to know the animals and for some experiencing their very first pony ride. The jumping castle rang out with squeals of laughter with even some of the parents braving the mayhem to join their children down the slide (it was great to see parents play).
Family day care offers a uniqueness. More often than not families within a service become friends in their own right, with their children offering common ground in which to build their relationship. It was heartwarming to watch parents and children conversing and playing together outside the normal care environment with several groups heading down to the beach at the end of the party to soak up the Bondi atmosphere.
We have many to thank for the success of the day especially Viktoria, Kerri and Natasha for putting in so much thought and preparation, Magical Play Moments for bringing beautiful resources, all our families and friends who helped behind the scenes and then lugged the gear needed uncomplaining, the coordinators for being awesome and to all the wonderful families for making the day so very special.
Vlad and Dale thank you.
